Happy Galentine's Day! At Intend, women are at the center of what we do, from our donors, to our intended mothers, to our staff. Here's a little Galentine's Day blog on how you can support your girl friends in the egg donation world, whether you know someone who is an egg donor or if you are a donor yourself.

Refer your friends

If you are already an egg donor with us, you can refer your friends to us so they can have the opportunity to be a part of our egg donation program too! Not only do your friends have the chance to undergo this unique experience, but you also earn a little incentive for referring them to us.

We are currently accepting donors of all ethnicities at Intend and our partner company AsiaWest. As a reminder, basic donor qualifications include:

  • Age 20-28

  • Resides in the U.S.

  • Healthy BMI between 18 and 28

  • Non-smoker and non-drug user

  • Able to provide full family medical history and a copy of degree or college transcript

If you have any friends, family members, and/or coworkers that might fit these qualifications and may be interested in helping families through egg donation, have them fill out a quick intake form! Here is the link for AsiaWest as well as the link for Intend.

Let us know that you referred them and make sure to have your friend add your name on the application. The application will ask ‘How did you hear about us?’ Make sure your friend adds your first and last name. As a thank you, we will send you $350 each time a donor you have referred is uploaded to the database. Furthermore, we will send you a $25 gift card as a thank you whenever you refer anyone to us.

Be a support person

If becoming an egg donor isn't for you, another great way to help out is by being a support person for your egg donor friend. The egg donation procedure requires that the donor have a support person to accompany them to and from their retrieval. As a support person, all of your travel is also paid for by the intended parents, including flights, hotels, and a per diem for food.

We often see donors choose their best girlfriend to come with them on this journey, and it's wonderful to see women show up to support other women in this act of generosity. Going through the egg retrieval process, especially for the first time in a new city, can be daunting at first, and having a familiar face there can mean a lot.

Our girl friends are the best! Galentine's Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the female relationships in your life. If you know anyone who is an egg donor, why not ask her about her experience? Why did she do it? How has it impacted her life?

If you are an egg donor, think about the women in your life. Would any of them also enjoy and value the experience of being an egg donor? Refer them to us today!
